Trauma Intervention Programs, Inc. (TIP) is a national voluntary nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that those who are emotionally traumatized in emergency situations receive the assistance they need. To accomplish that goal, TIP Inc. works closely with local communities to establish emergency services volunteer programs. In these programs, well-trained citizen volunteers are called to emergency scenes to assist family members, witnesses, and other bystanders who the emergency system often must leave behind.

Since 1985, TIP, Inc. has established emergency services programs in over 70 cities. In each of these programs, citizen volunteers are demonstrating that given the opportunity, they can play an important role in the emergency response system.
Welcome to TIP NW
 Challenge
Every day, Emergency Responders in our area call for a TIP volunteer to show up on our scenes and support those who are emotionally wounded. In their 16 year history, TIP has never missed a call.

For many years, TIP staff has wanted to supply each volunteer with a reflective vest that would make the volunteer easily identifiable by emergency responders when responding to a large scene, an accident site or any call where command needs to easily identify the volunteer.

Vests

I would like to challenge you personally and each agency in our region to fit a volunteer with a vest. If every station and every shift in your response area were to pledge $30.00- we can have all 160 volunteers in vests before the summer is over!

Each vest your agency gives will include a personal card indentifying you as the donor:

Every vest donated will have a small card attached that reads something like, " This vest is proudly donated by the members of Gresham Fire Engine 73 as a thank you for your commitment to such a valuable and noble cause in assisting those during their time of need." If an individual person donates we will put their name in place of the Engine Company.

I am asking each jurisdiction to designate someone to coordinate and collect for their respective departments and get the money to TIP. TIP staff will be keeping a running total of who has donated and how close we are getting our goal of 160 vests.

If you are up to the challenge. . . . fill out the form or you may accept the challenge now and fill out our online form .

{ If we exceed our goal the money will be in the vest fund for when the new members graduate from their training. The Police departments will also be joining in this effort.}
