Trauma Intervention Program NW offers several services in association with our national headquarters. All services are provided by trained and dedicated TIP volunteers, as part of the larger program. The information below provides a broad overview.
TIPNW Volunteers | Trained crisis responders available 24/7/365 to provide immediate emotional support at the request of emergency personnel.
TIPTeens & School Response Program | Established in 1998, this program currently includes 22 Teens from local schools; supporting students and staff following deaths, violence, or other school-related crisis events.
Crisis Response Team (CRT) | In partnership with the Portland Police Bureau (PPB), CRT Volunteers respond wherever requested to support individuals affected by violence or threats of violence (e.g., gun, gang, domestic, hate, or bias-related incidents).
30-Day Follow-Up Calls | During 2020, TIPNW recognized the need for additional emotional support about a month after TIP’s initial response. All consenting TIPNW Clients now receive a phone call 30-Days later, offering connection and resources.
TIP4Kids Program | Referrals and short-term support for children and families who have experienced a powerful event.
Critical Incident, Disaster & Community Response | Response to major incidents, disasters and large-scale community events.
Senior Support | Provides follow-up services to elderly individuals who are in crisis or have experienced a traumatic event.
National Affiliate Network | In collaboration with other TIP Affiliates across the country, support can be provided to individuals whether they are local to the NW or traveling outside the area.
Bilingual Services | Bilingual & bi-cultural volunteers are available to respond to scenes when language or cultural support are needed.
TIPNW Resource Guide | Comprehensive, trauma-informed guide provided on-scene to all TIPNW Clients, which is available online and to the public. It includes resources on grief, funeral homes, crisis lines, death certificates, community resources and more.
TIPLine | A telephone information and referral service is available to support emotionally traumatized individuals.
Hospital Response | TIPNW Volunteers are called by hospital emergency room staff to assist victims and their families.
Traffic Accident Response | Response to traffic accident scenes at the request of emergency personnel to support survivors, family members, and witnesses.
Client Feedback | 30-60 days after an individual has been assisted by a TIPNW Volunteer, a Feedback Letter and Evaluation is sent to offer additional resources and request Feedback on the Volunteer(s) and services provided, which is shared with the volunteers and used for program analysis, training and promotion.
